The Georgetown ISD board of trustees approved a more than $148 million budget for the 2017-18 year during its monthly meeting Monday night.

Made up of three seperate components, the general fund totaled just over $113 million, the food service fund totaled around $5.7 million and the debt service fund was more than $29 million.

The trustees also approved a two percent midpoint salary increase for all GISD employees across the district.

GISD Chief Financial Officer, Steve West, who is retiring after more than five years with the district presented his last budget to the district. The trustees announced Pam Sanchez, the Executive Director of Business Services for GISD, would take over for West.
