It's a busy week in the Georgetown area. Here is what you need to know:

GISD Board of Trustees

The monthly Georgetown ISD meeting will be held tonight, with a special public hearing taking place at 5:30 p.m. before the 7 p.m. meeting. The public hearing will focus on the 2015-16 FIRST Report, or Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, which is the Texas Education Agency's financial accountability system. Other regular agenda items include a zoning update, bond update, land purchase for a new elementary school and updates on filling the Place 7 vacancy.

Williamson County Commissioners Court
The county government body meets each Tuesday to discuss, consider and vote on items concerning the county. Tuesday’s agenda includes updates from the Department of Infrastructure and discussion about a historical marker being placed near the Confederate soldier monument.

Williams Drive Study 

The final event of the week-long open design studio and charrette for the Williams Drive Study will be hosted by the city of Georgetown and Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization on Nov. 16. Two presentations will be held to go over progress made this week. Citizens can still participate in the study Monday and Tuesday of this week.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

A groundbreaking for the Williamson County North Campus Facility, which will be house the Williamson County EMS, Wireless Communications Shop, the Sheriff’s Office Impound Yard and Vehicle Inspection Area, is taking place Monday at 2 p.m. The total budget for this project is $24.8 million and is anticipated to be completed in spring 2018, according to the county.
