The board has been great to work with.” Thomas has served as the Georgetown economic development director for 13 years and overseen many projects in the city in that time, he said. Prior to serving in Georgetown, Thomas held similar positions in Waco and Midland. During his tenure Thomas worked on projects, including the recruitment of Tasus Texas Corp., the Citi Bank data center, the Texas Life-sciences Collaboration Center and Radiation Detection Co. Thomas also worked to retain the business in Georgetown and help with the expansion of AirBorn Inc., he said. Thomas said he has enjoyed working in Georgetown with the community, his staff, the chamber of commerce as well as City Council. “This is all about a great opportunity in another community,” he said. “Staff has been wonderful to work with. The councils and mayors have been wonderful. … I could not have had better staff or people to work with.” Thomas said he will continue to be a regional partner and work with economic developers throughout Williamson County.
