City Council approved an amendment June 9 to the Teravista development’s consent agreement that could add 250 residences to the master-planned community located in the city’s unincorporated area just north of the existing section between Westinghouse Road and SE Inner Loop.
The amendment will add 101.8 acres into the development’s municipal utility district, or MUD, said Georgetown Principal Planner Jordan Maddox.
The addition will also include about $500,000 in parkland improvements, including a splash pad, shade structures, trails, parking lot, sports fields, restrooms and other amenities on a 25-acre tract previously dedicated by the developer, according to a city staff report.
Maddox said developers would also build a portion of the proposed Blue Ridge Drive on the property.
The new section, including water line improvements on FM 1460, will not require additional debt issuance by the developer to complete, Maddox said.
In 2012, Newland Communities broke ground on infrastructure for a new section of the community north of Westinghouse Road in Georgetown’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, or ETJ. The section includes up to 1,000 homes.
