While the number of residents age 65 and older has hovered around 20,000 in Georgetown over the last five years, it saw a slight uptick in 2023, according to recently released American Community Survey 5-year estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau.

This resulted in a five-year percent increase of 7.37%.

However, in Williamson County, this demographic has increased by nearly 20,000 people, or by 27.07%, from 2019-2023.

Still, residents age 65 and older make up more than a quarter of Georgetown's overall population at 28.19%. This far outpaces the county, where residents age 65 and older are about 13% of the total population.

Over the last five years, the median age of Georgetown residents has decreased by two years. In Williamson County, the median age is up by nearly a year.

Despite these trends, the median age of a Georgetown resident is seven years higher than median age of a Williamson County resident.
