The backstory
Owner Dixie Doss first opened the store as a bridal shop in Round Rock after noticing a lack of bridal registry services outside of Austin. After four years of business, Doss relocated the store to Georgetown in 2020 where she expanded her services to include baby clothes and custom gifts.
With a background in the wholesale industry and now as a small business owner herself, Doss said owning a business is difficult, but the connections she makes with the community make it worth it.
“The people are what make me come in here everyday,” Doss said. “It’s truly more important to me to gain a friend out of it than to gain a customer. We share so many life experiences with people from weddings to funerals ... which is what makes us different.”
What’s special about it?
Doss plays a meaningful role in her customers’ lives and makes sure to go above and beyond for their special occasions.
Once, Doss met a customer the day before Christmas at a gas station to give him his wife’s Christmas gift after he had told Doss he wouldn’t be able to make it to the store since his wife had gone into labor.
“There was no way I was going to let a gift sit on a table at Christmas knowing they don’t have it,” Doss said. “I would lose sleep over that.”
More details
The store offers home decor, children’s clothing, customizable gifts, invitations, monogramming and urn engravings, both online and in store.
Doss said soon the store will bring a taste of her West Texas roots to the square. Customers can stay tuned as the holiday season approaches for a tasty surprise perfect for stocking stuffers, Doss said.
