GT School held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 25 following its opening Aug. 26.

What parents should know

The private school specializes in hands-on, project-based workshops, and is now teaching kindergarten through eighth grade students who meet its qualifications.

Students are in various stages of enrollment, and five to six students will start before the end of the year while 30-40 students have qualified to become a student, said Anna Davlantes, a spokesperson for GT School, in an email.

How it works

GT School uses 2hr Learning, a program that uses artificial intelligence to customize curriculum around each student’s needs.

“The students who go to this school are exceptional learners who crave challenges,” Davlantes said in the email. “They do not want to be limited by peer ability, classroom structure or school philosophy.”

While there are no lecture-based classrooms, students can participate in:The 2hr Learning program is also incorporated at Austin-based Alpha School, which was founded in 2014, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

Enrollment for GT School is capped at 100 students for the 2025-26 school year, Davlantes said. Tuition is $25,000 per year, and the school has rolling admissions.
