Flower Bells is now open in downtown Georgetown, with a grand opening event planned for mid-October.

The gist

After three years of working weddings and special events, Flower Bells Owner Susan Stone decided to grow her business by opening a brick-and-mortar store on Sept. 1, she said.

Flower Bells sells build-your-own and premade bouquets, house plants, cacti, art, gifts and antiques, Stone said, and will continue offering services for events around Georgetown. Stone said she encourages customers to create their own bouquets to foster creativity.

“I feel like people leave happier, and they leave ... full of pride that they did something,” Stone said. “Opening up that creative space in adults is very much needed.”

Also of note

The store will have a grand opening and plant swap event on Oct. 18 from 5-7 p.m., where visitors can bring propagations, plants or cuttings to exchange.

Two-hour evening art classes are held at the store once a week for $75 per person with supplies included, Stone said.
