According to the chamber, the class project is designed to provide real-time leadership skills for participants and may consist of a hands-on building task, a service project or a fundraising event.
All projects should be able to be accomplished in eight months and may not require more than 10 hours of work per month with conclusion set by May.
The Leadership Georgetown Planning Committee will review all applications and choose the finalists by mid-September. The finalists will present their proposals to participants in October.

A chamber representative explained that Leadership Georgetown is a program created to develop the next generation of Georgetown community leaders. The chamber also has a junior leadership program for high school juniors and seniors.
