Mesquite Creek Outfitters is hosting a fundraiser in store on Wednesday, March 9 from 5-7 p.m.

There will be an auction on-site to help raise funds for a refugee family from Afghanistan that was evacuated by the U.S. military last fall, according to Mesquite Creek co-owner Cody Hirt.

All funds raised will be used to purchase the family a vehicle.

"Our goal is to hit $10,000 in those two hours to buy [them] a vehicle that will fit all seven of them and so that [the father has] transportation to get to work and start helping his family," Hirt said. "I think our community will help us surpass this goal."

Sifatullah and his family are being sponsored by Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Joe Vandamme.
