Cattleman's Ball
The Williamson Museum hosted the fifth annual Cattleman's Ball on Oct. 15 at the Sheraton Georgetown Texas Hotel and Conference Center.
The event raised money for the museum's educational programs and honored former Texas Gov. Dan Moody.
Moody also served as district attorney in Texas' 26th judicial district, which included Williamson and Travis counties at the time.
During his time as district attorney, he was the first person to successfully prosecute and convict a member of the Ku Klux Klan.
Balloon release ceremony
St. David's Georgetown Hospital hosted a balloon release to honor breast cancer survivors and patients Oct. 21.
The event also commemorated October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
50 Fellas Foodfest
The Georgetown ISD Education Foundation hosted its inaugural fundraising event featuring 50 teams showcasing their culinary talent Oct. 22 in the GTU Jet Hangar at the Georgetown Municipal Airport.
Participants, including GISD Superintendent Fred Brent, Georgetown Mayor Dale Ross and Georgetown Police Department Chief Wayne Nero as well as Mesquite Creek Outfitters co-owners Brad Strittmatter and Cody Hirt (pictured from left), offered entrees and desserts.
