4th of July Celebration

The Sertoma Club of Georgetown hosted its 33rd annual 4th of July Celebration on July 3-4 at San Gabriel Park.

The event featured children’s activities, live music, arts and crafts vendors, and a fireworks show.

Austin Avenue Bridges Project open house and tour

The city of Georgetown hosted an open meeting June 29 at the Georgetown Community Center to gather public input for possible styles and options for repairing or replacing the Austin Avenue bridges.

Inner Space Cavern 50th anniversary

Inner Space Cavern celebrated its 50th anniversary June 9 with cave tours and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The cave, located at 4200 S. I-35, was discovered in 1963 by the Texas Highway Department, now the Texas Department of Transportation, while drilling to test the stability of the ground for the construction of I-35.
