Applications for a place on the Georgetown ISD board of trustees May 2 election ballot may be filed starting Jan. 15. The deadline to file is Feb. 14.

The general election will be to fill places 4 and 5 held by David Philips and Melanie Dunham, respectively.


As of 2:30 p.m. Jan. 31, both Phillips and Dunham had filed with the district for re-election, as well as Stephanie Blanck who filed for place 4 and Eric Robinson who filed for place 5.


The seven-member board serves three year terms without compensation. Trustees are responsible for adopting policy and regulations for the district as well as approving the district’s budget, hiring and evaluating the superintendent, and establishing goals and evaluating outcomes, according to the district website.
