Georgetown ISD announced Jan. 10 that it would cancel all after-school activities due to bad weather that is forecast to arrive late in the afternoon.

Regular school hours are not changing, and parents can expect the school day to end according to the normal schedule, the news release said. Buses are expected to run on a normal schedule as well, it said.

After-school care through the YMCA will continue as normal. However, the YMCA is encouraging parents to pick up their children earlier than usual if possible, the release said. YMCA after-school care is the only activity that will take place today after normal school hours, it said.

Additional questions can be answered by the district at 512-943-5000.
