At Mirchi Restaurant, co-owners Qurban Ali and Kashif Pathan serve spicy South Asian cuisine, including Indian and Pakistani dishes. Mirchi Restaurant opened its doors in September at 1212 W. Parmer Lane. The restaurant serves grilled meats, curries, wraps and tandoori dishes. Nan, an oven-baked flatbread, is made in-house, Ali said. Mirchi caters to special diets and includes numerous vegetarian options, such as chana masala, tarka dal, aloo gobi and palak paneer. The restaurant’s meats are certified halal, which is popular with many Arab and Muslim diners, Ali said. Popular menu items include the skewered and grilled chicken malai boti ($8.49); Chicken 65 ($9.49), a dish with red curry sauce and white rice; and the whole tandoori chicken ($13.99), which is rotisserie-cooked and flavored with South Asian spices. Desserts and a children’s menu are also available. “Business is very good. It keeps growing every day,” Ali said. Mirchi also offers catering. Adjacent to the dining room at Mirchi is a party hall that seats 80-100 people.
