City Council denied a request Jan. 27 from developers to pursue a lease agreement for a call or data center in the former Albertsons building at 610 N. Austin Ave.
The city sold the property to MF Trinity Management LLC in December 2013 with deed restrictions that limit the types of retail or commercial businesses that could be located in the building. Call and data centers are not on the list of acceptable businesses, which include general retailers, agricultural sales, landscape supply or garden centers, farmers market, artisan studio or gallery, personal services, dry cleaning drop-off, printing/mailing services, a fitness center, consumer repair services, and banking or financial services.
