On June 19, crews are scheduled to begin improvingstreets on the Square including Austin Avenue and Main Street between Sixth and Ninth streets, Seventh Street between Rock and Main streets and Eighth Street between Austin Avenue and Main Street.



The work to remove old pavement will begin at 9 p.m. and continue through the night, according to a news release from the city. Any work not completed on Thursday will be completed Friday night, June 20.



Repaving will begin June 23 in the morning during daytime hours. The repaving will use a recycle-in-place technology that removes the asphalt, mixes it with other materials and reapplies it to the roadway. The work is expected to continue through June 25.



Throughout the repaving process, two-way traffic will continue on Austin Avenue. However, there will be lane closures in the area during the roadwork, according to the release.



No work is scheduledfor June 2122.



The city asks that cars and other vehicles be moved from the area during ongoing roadwork.However, the schedule is weather-dependent and could be changed because of rain or material availability, according to the release.
