TxDOT to close I-35 for Lakeway Drive bridge demolition

The Texas Department of Transportation will close all northbound and southbound main travel lanes of I-35 from Williams Drive to SH 130 beginning at 10 p.m. Feb. 15 until 7 a.m. Feb. 16, weather permitting.

The closure will allow crews to demolish the existing Lakeway Drive bridge.

Traffic will be detoured to the I-35 frontage roads during the closure, and drivers should expect delays, according to a news release.

The demolition is part of a $5.9 million Lakeway Drive bridge replacement and realignment project. The entire project is expected to be complete this summer, according to the release.
