Dell Children's Medical Center, 4900 Mueller Blvd., Austin, launched a pediatric heart transplant program July 31. The program is a collaborative effort between Dell Children's and UT Health Austin, the clinical practice of Dell Medical School at the University of Texas. It will be led by Dr. Carlos Mery, and it is an extension of the pediatric cardiac care program Dell Children's started in 2019. According to a news release from Dell Children's, the new program will mean that patients and their families will no longer have to travel outside of Central Texas for this complex surgical procedure. 512-324-0000. www.dellchildrens.net
