Paul Fricano opened the deli in 2006. In 2011, the restaurant he co-owns with DeeAnne Bullard and Jamil Muhaisen had outgrown its original storefront and moved to its current location at 2405 Nueces St., just west of The Drag.
“Working with such incredible people made every day incredibly fun! That’s what has made it so rewarding, but so hard to say goodbye. We will truly miss you all,” Fricano wrote April 21 on the deli's Facebook page.
The deli has been closed since mid-March under stay-at-home orders from the city and county intended to stop the community spread of the coronavirus.
At 7 p.m. on April 24, Fricano will auction off some of the memorabilia in the deli via Facebook Live.
“I promise to entertain you with great deli stories that go with each item, some of them based on actual events,” Fricano wrote.
The auction can be found on the Fricano’s Deli Facebook page at www.facebook/com/fricanosdeli.
