Now that Tropical Storm Harvey has made its anticipated second landfall, long-term recovery efforts have begun in earnest, even as many residents are still being evacuated and dealing with immediate safety concerns. Companies across the country have responded by pledging to support—whether financial or material—and Central Austin businesses are rallying around the effort.
Here is a round-up of some of the many local businesses and events that are providing flood relief:
1. On Friday, Sep. 1, YETI will donate all sales from its
website and flagship store at 220 S. Congress Ave., Austin, to Hurricane Harvey relief funds.
2. Austin-based Whole Foods Market and its new owner, Amazon, will match cash donations made on Amazon’s
website up to $1 million. All funds will be donated to the American Red Cross Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
3. The Austin Diaper Bank has already donated more than 5,000 diapers to Hurricane Harvey victims and continues to send packs to local shelters in Austin and the surrounding areas. Diapers provide immediate relief to children, parents and senior citizens in times of crisis. Donate

this list or have diapers sent directly via the bank’s
Amazon wishlist.
4. The Austin Emergency Center is providing free emergency care to Hurricane Harvey evacuees at all three of its locations through Sep. 8. They are located at 4015 S. Lamar Blvd.; 3564 Far West Blvd., Ste. 110; and 13435 U.S. 183. All locations are in Austin and are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patients should bring a photo ID with an address from the affected ZIP codes.

The first $5,000 collected will be matched by owner MJ Hurt. The pub is also a drop-off point for canned or nonperishable goods, baby formula, diapers, wipes and new or used clean blankets and towels, all of which will be delivered to Lake Hills Church, which is helping to coordinate resources for flood victims.

a happy hour fundraiser with Those Texas Women on Aug. 31 from 4-8 p.m. Forty percent of proceeds from $5 drinks and half-off games will be donated to two organizations: the ACLU of Texas and the American Red Cross of Greater Houston.
