The Austin Convention Center and the Palmer Events Center are open at full capacity for the first time since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, representatives announced July 12.

The venues are now operating with no occupancy limits or social distancing requirements.

"The planning and booking of large, small, and other local events are taking place at ACC and PEC, and our team is ready to bring your events to life,” said Paul Barnes, Austin Convention Center department deputy director and chief operations officer, in a statement. “We are ready to host face to face events again in order that we may begin to heal our beleaguered meetings and events industry.”

Masking is also optional at the centers; event organizers are asked to enforce face covering requirements themselves if desired. However, the convention center department will provide health screenings when requested by clients. Cleaning and sanitation standards will remain the same.

The Austin Convention Center and the Palmer Events Events Center have announced several large events and exhibitions to be held at their facilities in the coming weeks and months, including the 2021 Austin Fall Home & Garden Show, the 2021 City-Wide Vintage Sale and the 2021 Classic Game Fest.
