Austin Community College will host a series of public forums June 27-29 with the three finalists in the mix to be the system's new chancellor, as the district nears the end of the search for its next leader.

What's happening

ACC is working to select a new chancellor following the January announcement that its longest-serving leader, Richard M. Rhodes, would be retiring at the end of August. Rhodes has spent 12 years at the helm of the ACC system and its 11 Central Texas campuses.

The district's board of trustees will eventually vote on the appointment of Rhodes' successor. In a statement, college officials said they are working to limit any disruption from the upcoming transition as the search process winds down.

More information on the search is available at www.austincc.edu/about-acc/chancellor-search.
