Inn Cahoots—an event space and boutique group travel hotel—opened three new bars and a food truck lot within its compound at 1221 E. Sixth St., Austin, in late July.

The details

Bar Mischief is a 20-seat lounge offering craft cocktails with hand-pressed juices, dehydrated produce and infused spirits. The bar also offers 1 ounce pours of rare and expensive liquors for guests to try at a more reasonable price.

Bar Mischief is open Thursdays from 5 p.m.-midnight, Friday-Saturday from 5 p.m.-1 a.m., and Sunday-Monday from 5-11 p.m.

IYKYK—named after the popular social media acronym that means “If you know, you know”—is a rooftop speakeasy offering live music and drinks. The bar is considered a speakeasy because while the bar is visible from the streets below, the entrance is hard to find, reps said.

IYKYK is open Friday-Saturday from 6 p.m.-1 a.m.

Austin Garden & Studio is described by reps as a “backyard hangout” for the community. The bar and event space has three stages for live music and access to air conditioned rooms. A portion of Austin Garden & Studio’s sales are donated to local nonprofits.

Austin Garden & Studio is open Wednesday-Thursday 5 p.m.-midnight, Friday-Saturday 5 p.m.-2 a.m. and Sundays 2 p.m.-midnight.

The backstory

Founder and CEO Kristen Carson started Inn Cahoots in 2019 after seeing the need for group travel accommodations outside residential neighborhoods.

“The idea for Inn Cahoots came from my belief that bachelor and bachelorette parties shouldn’t be held in residential neighborhoods,” Carson said in a news release. “I wanted to create a place where these parties and other large groups could have space to have fun while being in an area that would welcome them.”
