Here are the latest restaurant openings and closings in Downtown Austin


Downtown Austin’s restaurant scene saw a lot of changes this week. Here’s the latest:

All-day brunch spot Holy Roller now open off West Sixth Street
Local chef Callie Speer announced July 17 the opening of her all-day brunch diner Holy Roller, located in the former Wahoo’s Fish Taco space at 509 Rio Grande St., Austin.

ATX Cocina opened Monday in the Northshore residences
The new restaurant at 110 San Antonio St., Ste. 170, includes dishes ranging from street snacks to larger, shareable entrees.

Fairmont Austin reveals list of restaurants opening inside the hotel
The restaurants, opening in September, include a modern American grill, a communal restaurant and a bar.

Taco Cabana on MLK closes
Citing underperformance, Fiesta Restaurant Group, which owns Taco Cabana, closed the West Campus location July 10.

Red Room Lounge abruptly closes
Red Room Lounge, a downtown wine bar and venue that opened in 2012, closed July 18. Founder Alex Andrawes said in a Facebook post that the bar, 306 E. Third St., Ste. A, Austin, closed to make room for his personalized wine company Personal Wine.
