2. Recognize American Indian Heritage Day at the Bullock Museum
In 2013, the Texas State Legislature recognized the last September as American Indian Heritage Day in recognition of the historic, cultural and social contributions American-Indian communities have made to the state. 3. Browse through one million records at the Austin Record Convention
Join more than 300 dealers from across the U.S. and Europe at this major convention, which culls together more than a million 78s, 45s, LPs, CDs, cassettes and other music-related memorabilia. 4. Austin Pride turns 26
The pride festival is the largest annual LGBTQ advocacy and fundraising event in Central Texas, and the parade, which winds through downtown Austin, is the capstone event. 5. Catch a food coma at the inaugural Soul Food Truck Festival
Ten food trucks will be on hand to help induce a food coma, including chicken-and-waffle purveyor The Rolling Rooster, Down South Texas BBQ, Krab Kingz and Emoji's Grilled Cheese.
