1. Austin residents will soon be able to easily recycle old clothes and housewares thanks to Austin Resource Recovery's free new service. Beginning Dec. 5 on customers’ regular recycling day of the week, residents can put clothes, shoes, accessories, fabric scraps, stuffed toys, linens, tools, toys, hats, purses, kitchenware and books on the curb, and ARR will pick it up. For apartment dwellers, drop-off locations are available at the city's Recycle & Reuse Drop-Off Center, located at 2514 Business Center Drive.

2. Austin's Pancakes & Booze Art Show is held Saturday. The show includes more than 65 emerging artists, live body painting, a free pancake bar and a live DJ performance. Admission is limited to guests age 21 and older. The show starts at 8 p.m. Saturday at Elysium Austin, 705 Red River St., Austin.

3. Results of a downtown parking study show that among the private and public parking garages, the city-managed parking and the state-managed parking, there’s no uniform parking system, and people are not sure what and how they will be expected to pay and how long they can stay at any given parking spot. The consulting firm in charge of the study is expected to present recommendations to addressing downtown parking in February.

4. Austinites passed Mayor Steve Adler's $720 million mobility bond last week, and city staff has hit the ground running with an outline of next steps. Staffers will come to Austin City Council by the end of the year with a midyear budget amendment to hire additional staff and resources as well as to fund the first few projects, such as sidewalks and bikeways.

5. Capital Metro revised some of its proposed bus routes from the Connections 2025 transit plan, which is expected to be voted upon by the board of directors in December. Some of the modified routes include Route 663 around The University of Texas, Route 19 at Bull Creek Road and Route 5 along South Fifth Street.
