City Council District 7 incumbent Leslie Pool leads challenger Natalie Gouldin in political donations so far this election season, according to the latest round of campaign finance reports submitted to election officials Tuesday.
Every opposed candidate in the Nov. 8 election must file a contributions and expenditures report 30 days before the election. This latest round of reports, the first mandated disclosure since this summer, covers all financials from July 1 to Sept. 29, according to the Texas Ethics Commission.
Here is how much donation money each candidate has earned and spent for the District 7 City Council race during that timeframe:
Leslie Pool: $43,654 contributions, $12,266 expenditures, 300 donors. Notable contributors include South by Southwest Conference & Festivals and CAS Consulting & Services Inc.
Natalie Gauldin: $21,285 contributions, $32,761 expenditures, 181 contributors. Notable contributors include Steve Simmons, owner of Amy's Ice Cream, and Urbanspace COO Lara Burns.
In Austin City Council races, donations are not allowed to exceed $350 per contributor per election.
The next campaign finance report deadline is Oct. 31, or eight days before the election.
