The boil water notice for Leander remains in effect for a second day July 19—with the city saying on its website that "there is no estimate on how long it may take" to end the boil water notice.

On July 18, a power outage at Sandy Creek Water Treatment Plant and ongoing high consumer water use caused a significant drop in water pressure to dozens of Leander suburbs.

In the meantime, the city is urging those in the affected area to either use bottled water for drinking and preparing food or adhere to the Centers for Disease Control's guidelines for a boil water notice.

The city has also created a detailed GIS map online showing the specific areas affected by the boil water notice.
