In early March, Texas Children’s Hospital named Russ Williams as the senior vice president of the new North Austin campus, which is under construction and slated to open in February 2024.

“We are thrilled to have Russ Williams join our growing team at Texas Children’s Hospital Austin,” President and CEO Mark A. Wallace said in the March 8 press release. “As the largest children’s hospital in the nation, we strive to continually strengthen our roster with exceptional talent that advances our commitment to providing the right care in the right place at the right time.”

Williams comes with more than 20 years of experience in health care operations, according to the release. Prior to Texas Children’s, Williams served as senior vice president and chief operating officer at Seattle Children’s, leading some of its largest construction and expansion plans. He also previously served as chief operating officer at Riley Children’s Hospital at Indiana University Health and vice president of operations at Fairview Southdale Hospital.

“It is an honor to join the incredible team at Texas Children’s Hospital North Austin Campus,” Williams said in the release. “This team is working to create such a profound and life-changing difference in Austin for generations to come. I am looking forward to fortifying the relationship between Texas Children’s and the local community to ensure a healthier future for children and families.”

In effort of building and expanding on its existing services for the Central Texas community, Texas Children’s will open a “freestanding, state-of-the-art hospital to house its nationally ranked specialties,” according to the release. The hospital is slated to open in early 2024 at 9835 N. Lake Creek Parkway, Austin. www.texaschildrensaustin.org
