UPDATED 9:25 p.m.
Final election day voting results from Williamson and Travis counties confirm early leaders David McDonald and Chris Czernek have won seats on Leader City Council.
McDonald won the Place 3 race with 62.8% of the vote, or 1,962 votes. His runoff opponent Juan Alanis received 1,162 votes, or 37.2%.
In the Place 5 race, Czernek, the incumbent, won with 62.07% of the vote, or 1,952 votes. His challenger Bill Louden received 1,193 votes, or 37.93%.
McDonald said he is happy the long election—extended by the runoff—is over.
"Being a longtime Leander resident, I'm excited that they put their trust in me," McDonald said. "I just want to represent [the residents] well and do what's best for our city."
Czernek was not immediately available for comment.
All members of the Leander City Council serve at large, meaning each member represents the entire city. As a result, all Leander residents can vote for all of the seats up for election. Council members serve three-year terms.
All results are unofficial until they are canvassed and certified.

In the race for Place 3, David McDonald leads with 1,165 votes or 63.04% of the vote. Juan Alanis has received 683 votes or 36.96%.

Early voting results include ballots cast in-person from May 31-June 7 and those received by mail ahead of election day. No in-person election votes have been reported yet.
These two Leander City Council elections advanced to a runoff after no single candidate received more than 50% of the vote during the May 7 local election.
All results are unofficial until they are canvassed and certified.
