Candidates elected to the Leander ISD board of trustees were sworn into office Dec. 1.

Sade Fashokun, Francesca Romans and Paul Gauthier took the oath of office at Leander ISD’s Conference Center after winning their respective races during the Nov. 8 election.

Fashokun will continue in her role as Place 5 trustee. It was the first time for her to take the oath, as she was appointed in October 2021 to replace former Place 5 Trustee Jim MacKay, who resigned that year.

Romans will serve in the Place 6 seat. She replaces former Trustee Aaron Johnson, who announced in July he would not seek re-election.

The Place 7 seat will be filled by Gauthier. He replaces former Trustee Elexis Grimes after the defeating the incumbent in the election.

In a reorganization of the board, Place 4 Trustee Anna Smith was elected to as secretary, while Place 1 Trustee Trish Bode and Place 2 Trustee Gloria Gonzales-Dholakia were chosen to continue in their roles as board president and vice president, respectively.
