Texas gyms and fitness centers can reopen May 18 in limited capacities.

The state released guidelines for gyms and exercise facilities and their patrons. Gyms, fitness facilities and classes cannot exceed its 25% occupancy limit, which does not include employees or contractors, according to the state’s minimum standard health protocols.

Patrons are recommended to maintain 6 feet of social distancing from people outside their household and people age 65 and up, self-screen for coronavirus symptoms, wear gloves covering the wrist and fingers, disinfect equipment before and after use, and follow other safety recommendations.

Below are local gyms and fitness studios and the dates they plan to reopen. Each gym's class and equipment availability may vary, and many will continue online classes.
