The details
Construction on the new path, which will connect the Bell District to existing paths along 183A Toll, began Nov. 10. It will provide a 10-foot-wide concrete surface designed for cycling, walking, running and dog walking as well as easy access for strollers and wheelchairs.
The project was recommended in the city’s Master Mobility Plan. It is projected to cost $3,259,859, and construction is expected to be complete in fall of 2026, according to the master plan.
Contractors have begun demolishing and excavating sections of the existing sidewalk to make improvements to infrastructure along the length of the trail.
The impact
In a Facebook post, the city advised planning for detours and lane closures while crews work on the path.
