Cedar Park officials kicked off the design process for the Bell District shared-use path, or SUP, at the end of April.

A closer look

The Bell District SUP—intended for pedestrians and bicyclists—would provide a connection from the existing path on the west side of Bell Boulevard to the one on the east side of the 183A Toll, according to city officials.

Stretching 4,000 linear feet, the new 8- to 10-foot-wide concrete SUP will link the Bell District to the 183A Toll SUP and the Brushy Creek Regional Trail. The new path will also include a pedestrian crossing at the Capital Metro Railroad.

Cedar Park City Council approved a $360,000 contract for the design of the Bell District SUP project during a Feb. 22 meeting.

Officials said design and construction for the project will be funded through the city’s 2022 bond program.

Next steps

Design on the new path is expected to wrap up this winter, officials said. A construction timeline is yet to be determined.
