The vote cleared the way for Hill Country Christian School of Austin to expand operations at 3502 Hatch Road and for Don’t Tell Mama Tattoo to open at 401 E. Whitestone Blvd.
What they’re saying
At city council’s Nov. 14 meeting, Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin explained that the SUP process was in place for tattoo parlors to ensure they were coming to appropriate places in town, though he didn’t seem concerned about this location for the shop.
James and Brooke Dupper, who own Iron Rite Tattoo in Killeen and Iron Rite Tattoo South in Georgetown, are now clear to open Don’t Tell Mama Tattoo, which will be Cedar Park’s first tattoo parlor.
Additionally, Hill Country Christian School of Austin was approved to expand operations and operate private school space on 10.62 acres at 3502 Hatch Rd. The property is currently developed for religious assembly, according to previous reporting, but it will be modified so the school can teach middle and high schoolers there.
The school currently operates out of Hill Country Bible Church, which is adjacent to the property that was approved for the special use.
