Williamson County will host its annual Learn to Fish Day on April 20 at the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park in Leander. The event will allow children of all ages to learn fishing tips and techniques through hands-on teaching stations.

What you need to know

The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon, and it is recommended to arrive early to get the most out of the event, according to a Williamson County news release. Fishing poles and tackle will be provided on site.

Local experts will guide young anglers on the use of basic tackle, appropriate bait selection, knot tying and casting, according to the release.
