Round Rock ISD trustees choose calendar with more religious holidays for 2024-25 school year
The Round Rock ISD board of trustees approved a 2024-25 district calendar option that includes more religious holidays after receiving community feedback during the calendar setting process.
What happened?
Trustees approved Option 1A for the 2024-25 academic year during a meeting Dec. 12 by consent. This comes after community members have called on the district for more inclusion of religious holidays during previous meetings in which the board has considered the calendars.
Round Rock ISD survey highlights parent priorities for district
As Round Rock ISD officials work to create a five-year strategic plan for 2024-29, district staff are engaging community members to gauge what parents and teachers would like to see prioritized in the plan.
What's happening?
Results from a community engagement survey; focus group; and summit of district parents, staff, teachers, principals and other RRISD community members shared Dec. 4 key areas of concern and interest. These include but are not limited to what community members believe will shape education in coming years, skills community members would like to see teachers acquire, and how technology should or should not be incorporated into the classroom.
