Bell Park is located on a 15-acre plot along Cluck Creek, adjacent to the new Cedar Park Public Library, and features outdoor art installations, trailheads, a pavilion and public restroom facilities. The park also features “Belle,” a 23-foot playground structure designed after the Texas state bird, the mockingbird.
The park is largely complete, with some trailheads still in the final stages of development, according to a press release from the City of Cedar Park. When finished, the 4,000-linear-foot trail, which includes 3,700 feet of paved, shared-use walking space, will connect the incoming Bell District development to Bell Boulevard.
The big picture
The park is part of the city’s Bell District project, which is being designed by the development firm RedLeaf. RedLeaf developers incorporated the park into their vision for the district, which also includes the new Cedar Park Public Library. When completed, the Bell District will offer retail, restaurant, office and residential spaces. Vertical construction on the office and retails sites will begin in the summer, and phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed within seven years, according to previous reporting.
Quote of note
“Today, we celebrate another positive step in the development of the Bell District,” said Cedar Park Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin. “By spring, this area will be lush and green and ready for activities.”
