Three restaurateurs with ties to Tony C's, The League Kitchen and Tavern and Fonda San Miguel are teaming up to open a restaurant in Northwest Austin.
Dos Chivos Mexican Restaurant, which likely will open the week of April 13, will serve a variety of Tex-Mex and Interior Mexican entrees, such as Cochinita pibil with roasted pork shoulder, pescado Veracruzano featuring seared Texas redfish and avocado tres leches using a recipe from Saucedo's grandmother.
Co-owner and chef Mizael Saucedo said the restaurant is designed to be family friendly and has a children's menu, approachable entrees and happy hour specials Monday through Friday from 3-7 p.m.
Co-owner Tony Ciola said TC4 & Co.—which operates Tony C's, The League and Dos Chivos— aims to bring quality restaurants to the suburbs.
"Our concepts are neighborhood restaurants," he said. " We like the fact we can get to know our guests on a personal level. We'll see these people two to three times per week."
The restaurant is located in the former Johnny Carino's at 11620 N. RM 620, and will have an outdoor patio seating 60.
A grand opening celebration is planned for May 5 at 5 p.m. with a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Austin. Specials and live music will be available. For more information visit
