Business to add health seminars

Darla Carrillo, a certified nutritionist, opened Georgias Naturals with her husband in March.

The small shop offering organic foods, toiletries and nutrition supplements has had an outstanding first year, Carrillo said.

A lot of people come in seeking advice, she said. They also come in looking for items so they dont have to drive to Round Rock or Austin. A lot of inventory is built off customer requests.

Georgias Naturals hosts massage, ionic foot detox and nutrition consulting by appointment and carries a variety of specialty food items, vitamins, herbs, soaps, snacks and pet food.

It makes it easier to work with a client if everything is right here, Carrillo said.

Based on a customer request, Carrillo said she will begin offering classes in January.

She said she hopes to host one-hour informational health seminars each month with different speakers.

Its just a way to give more education to the public, Carrillo said. I have some people lined up to do talks on essential oils, herbs, the whole natural health gamut.

The seminar topics will vary each month depending on the speaker and take place in the evenings at Georgias Naturals.
