Bastrop ISD welcomed new schools and made improvements to existing schools in 2023. More projects are in the works for 2024.

2 new elementary schools, improvements coming to Bastrop ISD

Bastrop ISD is in the process of selecting land for the district’s ninth and 10th elementary schools. The new schools are part of the 2021 and 2023 bond programs to address enrollment growth as well as critical system upgrades and replacements.

The district expects to accommodate 3,150 more students by 2028 as student enrollment is projected to grow 3.5% each year.


Bastrop ISD baseball, softball fields to open in time for spring 2024 season

The Bastrop High School baseball and softball fields are 95% complete, district officials said. The projects are part of the 2021-2023 Bastrop ISD bond improvements.

The projects included revegitation of the softball fields at Buchanan Street and a new turf field at the baseball fields located off of Lovers Lane.

Bastrop ISD dedicates 3 elementary schools


Bastrop ISD celebrated the completion of Camino Real, Mina and Colony Oaks elementary school projects with ribbon-cutting ceremonies at each campus Jan. 10.

Under the 2021 bond, the district built two new campuses, Camino Real and Colony Oaks. Updates to the Mina campus were also made. Mina Elementary’s improvements include a new two-story front-entry building and playground. New buildings on the remaining campus will be completed in Phase 2 of the Mina Elementary School project.
