The Bastrop High School baseball and softball fields are 95% complete, district officials said. The projects are part of the 2021-2023 Bastrop ISD bond improvements.
The projects included revegitation of the softball fields at Buchanan Street and a new turf field at the baseball fields located off of Lovers Lane.
“We know the students, coaches and parents are eager to celebrate, and we look forward to seeing their success on the field,” said Lee Raspberry, BISD director of construction and planning, in an email.
Crews worked nights and weekends to make up on weather delays, Raspberry said at the BISD board of trustees meeting Jan. 23.

The Bastrop High School Sportscenter is on schedule to be completed in September. The facility will include a renovated weight room, new locker rooms for all athletes, a film room, an athletic trainer facility and coaches' offices.
