The details
On March 12, community members will have the opportunity to hear from Michal Hubbard, a local historian and Bastrop County Historical Society member, as she gives a presentation on the notable women of Bastrop. The first official presentation in the series took place March 1.
"We have a pop-up exhibit right now of women from Bastrop history, and she did a presentation on them last Friday," said Rachel Hatch, spokesperson for the Bastrop Museum & Visitor's Center. "And it was really, really great. People didn't want her to stop, they wanted her to keep going. So she has a wealth of information on the history of Bastrop, but specifically about women. And so this event is getting it's a whole new set of women, but it's going to be just as amazing, if not more amazing, because it'll be kind of more intimate setting."
Hatch also said there will be a booklet for sale with information about the women featured in the exhibit.
Participants can bring their lunch to the Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center, where beverages and desserts from Simply Sweet Cupcakes will be provided.
