From Valentine’s Day crafts to a jazz concert, Bastrop community members have several events to look forward to from Feb. 8-March 1. This list is not comprehensive.

Build Some Love

Children and their parents can create wood block Valentine’s Day crafts with all materials provided and treats.

Cowboys and Angels Gala

With dinner, dancing and an auction, guests can enjoy a night of raising funds to support the Smithville Community Clinic mission to provide hope and healing to those without means.


Post 553 Annual Freestyle Chili Cook-Off

Bastrop residents are welcome to attend the third annual chili cook-off with a silent auction, a booze wheel, chili tasting and chili cooking for a cash prize. There are unlimited judging spots available and anyone can be a judge.

UrineTown the Musical

Directed by Johnathan Young, the award-winning, satirical musical will talk all things legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, environmental collapse, privatization of natural resources and musical theatre.


Childbirth Education Class

Parents to be can learn about labor positions in this open-to-all course hosted by The Bastrop Birthing Center. Classes are held once a month and cover different labor and delivery topics. RSVP is required due to limited space and attendees must bring a yoga mat.

Reggie Carter Concert

As part of the Lost Pines Horizons concert series, the event will highlight world class jazz with Austin Jazz Collective. All ages are welcome and seating is limited.

Pickleball Power Play Tournament

Participants can register to play in men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. Registration ends Feb. 23 and all individuals interested must have a DUPR account which records pickleball game results and player rating.

Purses and Poppies: Bastrop County Designer Purse Bingo

Children’s Advocacy Center serving Bastrop, Lee & Fayette Counties, which provides services to families impacted by abuse, neglect and trauma, will host its annual fundraiser with 10 games of bingo with luxury designer purses as prizes. The event will include themed appetizers and sparkling drinks, a silent auction and extra games and activities.
