Down Home Masquerade

Down Home Ranch presents its 21st gala, “Down Home Masquerade,” funding its mission to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The event will feature live music by The Statesboro Revue, a country-style dinner, a live auction, a silent auction and raffle prizes.

'Young Frankenstein The Musical'

The Bastrop Opera House is ending its 2023-24 season with “Young Frankenstein The Musical.” The show follows Frederick Frankenstein, the grandson of Victor Frankenstein, as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather’s. The musical will have show dates between Sept. 13 and Sept. 29. The Bastrop Opera House does not admit children under age 3.Bailey’s Bull Bash Concert


Spend the afternoon watching bull riding and dancing to performances by Nashville artists Moe Bandy and Janie Fricke. Bull riding will begin at 5 p.m. and be followed by the live music.

Annual Feed the Need Missions Gala

Support Feed the Need Mission by attending the annual gala. The event will include dinner, live entertainment and an auction. Steak dinner will be provided by Southside Market and BBQ. The gala theme is famous pairings or groups. Examples include peanut butter and jelly, and The Beatles. Attire is formal.

Composting for Your Garden

The Bastrop Public Library will host a class led by the Bastrop County Master Gardeners. Participants will learn how to compost, and the class will take place in the Pressley Meeting Room.Bastrop Music Festival

Listen to live music all day and night at the sixth annual Bastrop Music Festival. The festival will feature approximately 35 shows throughout the four days at various venues, including Bastrop Beer Company, Astro Record Store, Kerr Community Center and more. All daytime activities are free and open to the public. Free music will be played at the box office location as well as free shows for children. Festival wristbands can be purchased in advance or the weekend of the event at the box office.

Golf for Life Tournament


The Bastrop Pregnancy Resource Center is hosting its 8th Annual Golf for Life Tournament at the Colovista Golf Club on Oct. 4. The tournament will begin at 11 a.m. All funds raised will go toward the BPRC.

Smithville Community Wide Garage Sale

Sell and shop the day away at Smithville’s annual community-wide garage sale. The event is hosted by the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce. Individuals interested in selling at the garage sale must apply by Oct. 2 and pay the $20 vendor registration fee to have their sale added to the event map. Maps are available at the chamber office, and will be posted on the chamber’s Facebook and Instagram.

Saturday Night Lights and Casino Nights

Join CASA of Bastrop, Fayette & Lee Counties at its annual premier fundraiser Oct. 5. The event will have food, casino games, a full-cash bar, bingo, a silent auction and a Wild Card Game. All funds from the event will go toward supporting CASA of Bastrop, Fayette and Lee Counties' mission to help children who have faced abuse and neglect.

Fall Festival Extravaganza

Attend Ascension Catholic Church’s annual Fall Festival Extravaganza. The festival will feature food, drinks, a cake walk, live music, a live auction, a silent auction, bingo, games for kids, games for all ages and more. One of the items being auctioned is a baseball signed by Joe DiMaggio, a former New York Yankees baseball player, with a letter of authentication.
