Bastrop County Elections Administrator Kristin Miles said about 5% of eligible registered Bastrop County voters cast their ballots during early voting, which ended April 29.
Miles said that number is similar to the overall turnout in previous May elections, which usually range from 9%-11%.

Voters can cast ballots in races for various positions within their districts.

- Bastrop mayor: Three candidates are running, including Willie DeLaRosa, Ward Northcutt and Ishmael Harris.
- Bastrop City Council: Place 1 is contested and includes candidates Perry Lowe and Cecilia Serna. Place 5 is contested and includes incumbent John Kirkland, who currently serves as mayor pro tem, and Cheryl Lee, who currently serves in Place 1.
- Bastrop ISD board of trustees: Place 5 is contested and includes incumbent Chris Dillon, who serves as vice president, and John Eason.
Bastrop County participates in the Countywide Polling Place Program, which allows voters to use any polling location within their county rather than being required to stay within their precinct.
Election day locations will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. and include:
- Aqua Water Supply, 415 Old Austin Highway, Bastrop
- River Valley Christian Fellowship, 1224 SH 71, Bastrop
- Bastrop County Courthouse Annex, 804 Pecan St., Bastrop
- Paige Community Center, 107 S. Main St., Paige
- Bastrop County Community Center, 15 American Legion Drive, Bastrop
- Smithville Rec Center, 106 Royston St., Smithville
- Bastrop County Cedar Creek Annex, 5785 FM 535, Cedar Creek
- Red Rock Community Center, 114 Red Rock Road, Red Rock
- North Bastrop County Community Annex, 704 Bull Run, Elgin
- Bastrop County ESD No. 2, Station 4, 1432 N. Hwy. 95, Bastrop
