Georgetown’s Arts and Culture Board is looking for an artist to design and paint a 21-by-15-foot mural on the west side of the downtown building at 215 W. Eighth St., Georgetown.

The selected artist will receive a $3,000 stipend and up to $1,500 for materials reimbursement, according to an announcement from the city.

Proposals are due by 5 p.m. Friday. Artists are allowed to submit up to two mural proposals for consideration by the Arts and Culture Board and the building’s owner. The finished mural must be completed before July 31.

According to the city’s announcement, the goal of the mural is to commission public art that represents Georgetown’s vision of “honoring the past and innovating the future.”
