Updated April 21 2:30 p.m.
After several days, forecasts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration show water levels finally starting to recede at Cypress Creek.
As of 1:45 p.m. April 21, water levels at the Cypress area measuring point were at 123.14 feet, slightly below moderate risk threshold for flooding of 125 feet. Although rainfall over the past few days has been lighter, water continued to travel downstream through the Cy-Fair area from Waller County keeping creek levels high. The creek is projected to reach low risk flooding levels April 23.
Cy-Fair ISD has closed all campuses through April 22.
Major thoroughfares in Cy-Fair—such as Barker Cypress Road, Skinner Road and Fry Road—experienced flooding that lasted well beyond the initial April 18 storm, making roadways difficult to navigate.
