Rock & Rolls Sushi Lounge is located on Padre Island in Corpus Christi and the second location in Cedar Park will feature a guitar-themed entrance and mood lighting. Restaurant owner James Wood said the menu will be identical to the Corpus Christi location. Dishes include seafood appetizers and sushi as well as alcoholic beverages and desserts.

“I love this area; I just fell in love with it,” Wood said. “I’ve lived here for several years and I’ve always been thinking about an opportunity to do business here.”

Wood and developer Bill Pohl, owner and president of Pohl Partners Real Estate Group, said the strip center will be called Cedar Rock Plaza and could break ground by spring.

Cedar Rock Plaza will include a total of 8,950 square feet, including the restaurant’s 800-square-foot back outdoor patio. Two 1,700-square-foot suites will face Lakeline Boulevard and flank the restaurant in the center. A fourth suite of 1,000 square feet will be located in the back.

Pohl said the project is awaiting approval from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The construction site is also temporarily storing materials for the city of Cedar Park’s ongoing nearby project to improve the intersection of Cypress Creek Road and Lakeline, which includes widening of a Lakeline bridge, Pohl said.

East of Cedar Rock Plaza, a new freestanding emergency clinic named Lakeline Emergency Center, is also expected to break ground this year. Lakeline Emergency Center will be located at the corner of Lakeline and Little Elm. The facility will be owned by Dr. Henry Higgins, who owns Cedar Park Family Emergency Room on Whitestone Boulevard. The new single-story, 8,401-square-foot building at Lakeline and Little Elm will also include a 24/7 emergency room.

Pohl Partners Agent Jennie Braasch said she expects the restaurant will quickly attract other tenants.

“One of the hottest types of restaurants people are wanting is sushi,” Braasch said. “[The idea] comes up all the time in Cedar Park. … It’s up close to Lakeline, so there’s great visibility.”
